Breeding conditions:

Two nests of Rough-legged Buzzards were found in the area. Bird counts have been carried out on a transect 10 km long, crossing all typical habitats of mountain tundra, including coastal area and sparse birch forest. Density of Rock Ptarmigan was 1.2 bird/km. Nests were found or behaviour indicated breeding in the following species: Black-throated Diver, mallard, European Wigeon, Pintal, Rough-legged Buzzard, Rock Ptarmigan, Eurasian Golden Plover, Ringed Plover, Dotterel, Wood Sandpiper, Common Snipe, Arctic Skua, Herring Gull, Common Gull, Meadow Pipit, Water Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, Pied Wagtail, Hooded Crow, Raven, Willow Warbler, Wheatear, Bluethroat, Fieldfare, Ring Ouzel, Redwing, Brambling, Snow Bunting. Breeding status of a group of 5 Whooper Swans, 9 Teals and a single Bean Goose remained unclear. Redpols were wandering birds in the area.
